LIVE! From Art Class!

Hello once again all. Sorry for not updating for about a month. I've been busy. I am currently writing this post while I am in class. I really should pay attention. After all, my class is being taught by the great Ron Richmond (I recomend his work. You should look him up).You guys are just so dang distracting.

Anyway, here is what is going on right now. I have finally returned to my comic strip, "Dead Rotten," the story of teenage zombies forced to go back to school dispite their obviously upsetting experiance of being dead. Poor guys. I will try to post a new strip every week, but I may need you guys to keep my on track.

Also, I finally have access to a scanner, so I can start submitting tee designs to the t-shirt design company "Threadless" once again. Keep an eye out for the designs and feel free to vote on them. Just go to http://www.threadless.com/ and search for the name Jacob Rott, but I think you can also search Ethan Aldridge and it will still work.

As a side note, thank you to everyone who came out and saw my show. I had a lot of fun and the show was a huge success. It's always weird/awesome beyond all reason when people express love for my doodles, and even more so when they buy them. Thanks, guys, for making life awesome.

Update time

Hello again
Yes, I am still here. Don't look so disappointed.
I just thought I would post some updates as to what has been going on recently. First of all, I have updated my portfolio. A lot of the pieces that were on there I did when I was in High School, because I didn't have any good photos of my recent work. Well, now that I have some of said photos, they are now posted for your viewing pleasure. I am having a little trouble getting them to show up on this site, so you might have to go to my Flickr account. Just search ethanaldridge. Mind you, this is not all of my portfolio at this point. I still have some more pieces that have just not made the jump to digital just yet.
Also, I am proud to announce that this October I will be having my very first solo art exhibition. The show is titled "Night Terrors: Bedtime Stories and Cautionary Tales." The pieces in the show are mainly illustrations I have done for various "Dark Fairytales," either of my own creation or taken from classic legends. It will be held in the Altspace gallery in Ephraim, UT from October 5th-9th. We are having an opening on October 5th from Noon to 1:00. Hope to see you there.

Hello again everyone. Just thought I should inform you that what I have of my portfolio is now online. You can see it on my flicker page. Mind you, this is not the complete version, due to some tech issues I am currently having, but I will hopefully have some new pieces on soon.

Endings and Beginnings

Well friends, another artistic mile point in my life has been reached. I have officially finished the wall mural for my High School Library, my largest work to date. What do you guys think? Now that it is finished, I can focus on other projects, such as my designs for Threadless and Ideas of the AltSpace show. I am now considering a new show theme call "Ethan Aldridges Night Terrors: Ghostly stories and Cautionary tales." By the way, my real name is Ethan Aldridge, in case you haven't caught that by this point.

Also, for anyone who cares about becoming an illustrator or cartoonist or any other such thing might be interested in a podcast I found. It is called "Big Illustration Party Time." It discusses the ins, outs, ups and downs of being a freelance illustrator. Check it out. It is very insightful.

NEWS!.....and stuff

Hello again all. I just thought I would bring you all up to date on what is going on. Today, I will be going back to my parents house to finish the wall mural for my old High Schools Library. I will try to get pictures of the finished product on here as soon as I can. Also, I am beginning plans for what might be my first solo art show. The college I am currently attending has a gallery called "AltSpace." You submit your ideas for a show and some examples of your artwork to the art department, and, if they like it, they give you a date for your solo show to start. The call for submissions is next week, so I have begun work on a show idea called "Phantasmagoria." It will center around the theme of masks and circus arts.

Also, I have been assigned to do a self-portrait. I have never done one of these before. I will post an image of it as soon as it is finished, hopefully by the next post.

Hello all.
Wow, I haven't updated this thing in a very long time. So, let me fill you in on the things that have happened since my last post. The film needed some serious changes, so I kicked it back to the pre-production phase. While it was there, we decided to come up with a more compelling storyline. We are still working on that.
In other news, I finished illustrating my first childrens book , "There's one thing I don't understand" by Brad Ault. He is currently working on getting it published. Meanwhile, I have been working on two wall murals for my old high schools library. I will post photos of that as soon as they are done. I am also working on several t-shirt designs. I will post those soon. you guys should tell me what you think.

The gibbering of a Small Army of Skeleton Babies

Hello again, fellow Scourges of the Earth. Just to let you know, the titles of these updates will probably have very little to do with the topic. On the topic of my independent film, things are going well, but they are doing so very, very slowly. We have finally got all of the sets worked. I love the set for the graveyard. It is built around a one the most haunted (supposedly) buildings in the area where I live. It looks fantastic. However, we are having a bit of a problem getting some of the cast members to show. I'm considering replacing them with the sewn together creatures of death I just finished putting together last week. Hurray, Death.

I'm still trying to put some of my artwork on the site, but it is not excepting it for one reason or another. It keeps talking about an internal error. If anyone know how to get around this little problem, please help. Its hard to dispense terror on the earth when your own blog refuses to function.

Well, I'm off to the crypt to chain myself to my eisel again.

Horrible Beginnings of DOOM!

Hello all of my horrible, would be-minion things. My name is Ethan, but you can call me The Grave Robber. Anyway, this is the website for my new production company. At least, it is until we get something better.(by the way, the company name is copyrighted, so don't even think about it.) Here, we do movies, artwork, short stories, etc. All created by the wonderful genius of ME! (or, at least most of it. some of it might be created by some of my friends, in which case they will get credit.)

Lets get started, shall we? Right now at GraveRobber Productions, we are creating our first film. hurray! It is an old fashioned, black and white monster movie that is currently operating under the name "Wake the Dead." If any of you have any other title suggestions, please feel free to send them. It is basically a zombie film involving some very Lovecraftian stuff, like the Necronomicon. I will be posting updates on that later on.

Well, thats about it for now. I will be posting some of my paintings later on, making the place more horrifingly awsome. Until next time
